Is the BEETLE line still supported?
Diebold Nixdorf officially supports current BEETLE generations. For pre-2015 BEETLEs, official parts have largely sunset and aftermarket / refurbished pulls are now the practical service path — our core inventory.
Are V2X and V2CU card-reader heads interchangeable?
Mechanically the mounting and connector geometry is shared, but the V2CU controller firmware on some revisions expects a specific resistance profile. In practice, swapping a V2X head into a V2CU works on the majority of deployed ATMs; if you see read errors after the swap, the head is the wrong revision even though it fits physically.
Can I run modern Windows on a BEETLE?
Depends on the generation. BEETLE iPC Compact and newer can comfortably run Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC. Older BEETLEs with Pentium-class CPUs top out at Windows 7 or POSReady. Memory upgrades (DDR3 SO-DIMMs we stock) often make the practical difference on the older units.
